I have this student who surprises me with witty comments enough that I shouldn't be surprised anymore.

The other day, as usual, I was making ridiculously corny comments/jokes in class. He said, "You can't laugh at your own jokes. That's pride."

I must be the proudest person ever.

My convo with a 9 year old - TRUE STORY

Student: I did not know what I was supposed to do for spelling homework.

Me: You were supposed to write sentences just like it says in your agenda.

Student: I didn't do it.

Me: I see that.

Student: Where do I put it?

Me: Put what?

Student: The homework I didn't do.
