What I'm reading ... and other random thoughts

I've been a horrible reader for the last month, er more, really. My goal is to finish Prince Caspian this week (it's so boring!), as well as The Crescent through the Eyes of the Cross. I read a chapter of that today, and part of Velvet Elvis. I can only read Velvet Elvis a few pages at a time because it's full of viewpoints I'm afraid to confront. So yeah. I'm going to try to be a better reader this week.

Somehow I got a cold, or allergies, or something. I slept almost all of Saturday, and even called in for work at the stadium. I don't feel 100% today, but I certainly feel better than I did yesterday. I'm bummed I didn't work because I'm pretty excited about making money to pay off my school loans. I don't think I'll reach my goal (paying it off by the end of summer), but I'll put a big dent in the amount. Yesss.

My friend, Lisa, heard Don Miller, Andy Stanley, and several other great speakers last week at a conference. I was pretty jealous when I found out. I told her how much I love Don Miller's books. She said, "The whole time, I kept thinking how perfect this guy would be for you." I cracked up because I admitted to having that thought while reading some of his books. It made me feel like one of those teenage girls who gets a crush on a tv star. She thinks, "Oh, I'm the one for him!" and then writes him melodious poetry and love letters.

I did not write Don a love letter.
