Death

Today, friends and coworkers will be attending the funeral of Anthony Eldridge. He was married to our friend and coworker, Kristi-Anna for just over a year. Monday, he died unexpectedly of a pulmonary embolism. I only hung out with him once, but as everyone who's met him says, he's one of those guys you feel like you've known forever. He's genuine. He was real. He loved God.

I do not understand death, and the older I get, the more experiences around me I come to face. Death sucks. There's no way around it. People can offer peace by reminding us God is in control, and that is true. But death makes me angry because it reminds me that sin still has reign over the mortal, not one person's sin, but sin in general. Death came because of sin, and I hate it. I look forward to the day when Christ returns, regains His earthly kingdom, and destroys death forever. Dear Jesus, come wipe away our tears.

without death, no one would fully appreciate life.
