All the Small Things

Yesterday, I went to a friends house so the three girls I was babysitting could play with my friend's three girls. The house was new; she basically picked out everything she wanted for it. Well, let me just tell you about this house. I asked her what the square footage was, but she didn't even know. On the main level, she had a large kitchen, 2 dining areas, a piano room, a sun room, a large family room, a mudroom, and an office. Up the stairs, there are the three girls' bedrooms. The oldest girl is nine years old. Each of them have their own full bathroom attached to their rooms. There is a playroom, and then a master bedroom and huge bathroom (with jacuzzi, of course). The master bedroom is probably the size of the house I grew up in. There was a 5th room on the floor --- a play room. Going up more stairs, was a large office and laundry room. To the basement-- a huge open area with a bar, big screen tv (that was the 4th large, flat screen tv I'd seen in the house), and beautiful, fun furniture. There was a guest bedroom downstairs, along with a full bathroom. Next to the open gameroom area (which is what I just decscribed) was a theater room with 2 rows of 4 leather theater seats each.

I feel like there was probably more to the house than I just described. All I know is it was huge. Huge. Her mom is the vice president of a large development company. Apparently, her mom lives across the street in an even larger home, alone.

It's things like this that remind me I will never fit in this East Coast society. The midwest calls my name!

Here's where I grew up.

Oh, and yes, Carlisle is the name of the street where I grew up. And yes, Molly was my first dog. So, there's the secret to my blog name.

That is insanely crazy and large. I grew up with 5 siblings in small houses. The last house we all lived in together was probably the size of your house or maybe slightly bigger. It was 2 bedrooms/1 bath. For 8 people.

And for a while, we actually had the 2nd bedroom as a computer room.......

(All 6 of kids slept in the finished attic.)
